CRYSTAL PALACE - CHARLTON PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Crystal Palace have been in woeful form since coach Freedman left and Ian Holloway took charge. A run that has seen them record two wins in December and January. That they still sit in 5th position with 48 points, the gap to automatic promotion slot is widening though with 5 points the deficit now. Palace have recorded 13 wins, 9 draws and 7 losses. With Holloway desperate to reinvigorate The Eagles he was very busy on deadline day. Boosted by the £10 million initially paid for Wilfried Zaha,  Holloway brought in Kevin Phillips and Stephen Dobbie to bolster the strikeforce. With Alex Nimely and Jacob Butterfield also arriving, Palace now have some formidable attacking options.

Charlton got through the transfer window unscathed and will look to kick on now for the season.  A recent run of victories was ended by a home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday but Charlton had begun to look like a solid team again. Wins over Watford, Blackpool and Blackburn were all richly deserved. One problem possibly borne from the transfer window was Charlton's determination to get rid of Brad Wright-Phillips and Danny Green. That neither player ended up leaving will have not filled either player with confidence. A big mistake from Chris Powell for sure.

CRYSTAL PALACE - CHARLTON  PREDICTIONS: 1X2 BETTING PREVIEW

Really difficult game to call this on current form. Palace have been a mitigated disaster since the appointment of Ian Holloway. Something we called before he signed on, not great at Blackpool either.  Charlton have had a great run of form and deserve respect. For me though Palace have brought in four very capable attacking players. Nimely and Butterfield will both bring another facet to the side and either Phillips or Dobbie would be a great foil for Glen Murray. Both new strikers would be great impact subs also. 1.91 is a great price on the home win.
