CRYSTAL PALACE - MIDDLESBROUGH PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Crystal Palace have not had a great 2013 with just 2 wins in 8 matches, however apart from a slow start and conceding twice against Watford they were very strong in the last hour and looked like their old selves. They clawed back and scored twice but for all their pressing they could not grab a winner. Palace are still handily placed in 5th on 52 points, only 4 behind Hull in 2nd. The top spots are all closely contested so Palace will need to return to winning ways.  With 14 wins, 10 draws and 7 losses so far this season Palace would have hoped to be in a higher position but they have not got going since the new year. Kevin Phillips is likely to push for a start as he looked quality against Watford.

Middlesbrough managed to halt their awful run of losses with a late winner at home to Leeds. After a run of five successive defeats they looked out on their feet. A lucky late winner will do their confidence a world of good and they will look to kick on. Attacker Curtis Main grabbed the winner but was sent off in the dying seconds and will sit out this game. Mustapha Carayol will continue after his hugely impressive performance last time out. Lukas Jutkiewicz will come back into the side to replace the suspended Main.

Middlesbrough won but still looked a team in turmoil. They are still lacking confidence and nowhere near the side defeating all comers before Christmas. Crystal Palace have had a few poor games but against a strong Watford side they totally dominated the game for the last 60 minutes, attacking with pace and a directness that unsettled one of the best sides in the league. I expect Palace to perform her and surge back up the table.
