TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

Hull returned to winning ways last time out with a late 1-0 victory at Sheffield Wednesday.  After a run of three successive losses Steve Bruce returned to basics with a change of formation and a less attacking philosophy. Steve Bruce will be glad to see Aaron McClean finally get on the scoresheet for Hull this season as he can be a quality striker on form. Hull tick all the boxes for a promotion worthy team this season, they just need a bit more consistency. Hull play great football and are a typical Steve Bruce team with strong, powerfull ballwinners in the centre. With overlapping wing-backs he likes width to his game and in El Mohammady they have a Premier class player for sure. Defenders Joe Dudgeon and Alex Bruce returned from international duty injured but are expected to recover in time for Saturday.
Ipswich will hope the international break will bring a change to their terrible form. With just 1 win in their opening 10 games things are looking bleak for Paul Jewell. Despite the dreaded vote of confidence from the board he won't last long if results carry on this way. He has been able to sign a few short term deals and he has brought in a bit of quality. DJ Campbell arrived and promptly scored on his debut, Keeper Stephen Henderson of West Ham checked in yesteday too. Jewell is hopeful Stoke allow Danny Higginbotham to extend his loan period another month. Ipswich's awful luck continued last week with news star striker Michael Chopra has been involved in allegedly fixing horse races with a host of other players. The club had no choice but to suspend the player indefinately, not something they can really afford to do but obviously had no choice. The team is playing very poorly at this time and confidence is shattered. With few leaders within the team expect them to spend most of the game chasing a far superior Hull side.

HULL - IPSWICH:1X2 BETTING PREDICTION

2.00 Hull (BetVictor) is a huge price here. These two sides are poles apart in quality and the price simply must be taken. I was nearer 1.65 for Steve Bruce's side, who until recently were looking automatic promotion class. Ipswich in contrast are very poor and as well as leaking nearly 2 goals a game are not creating anything. DJ Campbell is an excellent signing but the link up play is non-existant. Against Cardiff last time out Ipswich took the lead and then sat back and invited Cardiff unto them, a foolish tactic and one that did come back to bite them. Hull are a very good price here and at 2.00 must be backed.

HULL - IPSWICH:ASIAN HANDICAP PREDICTION

Hull -0.75 is the pick here (2.29 Pinnacle) I fully expect Hull to win here but we are looking by a 2 goal margin to fully collect. With a 1 goal win enough for half win/half refund this selection is nicely priced and represents value. Leicester have won by 2 or more in 2 of their 5 wins so far this season.  Of Ipswich's 5 losses 3 have been by more than one goal. Hull are at full strength and should have the opportunity to boost their goal difference against Ipswich's delicate defence.

HULL - IPSWICH:TOTAL GOALS PREDICTION

Under 2.50 2.04 (Pinnacle) is the bet here. Again it looks a bit of a gamble given the nature of the goal mad Championship and especially where Ipswich are concerned. I am just worried about Hull and their conversion rate. They have only really racked up the goals in two matches from ten games this season, last time out especially Bruce was very keen on his men keeping things tight and did not like to overcommit. He got his reward with a 1-0 win. I can see something similar here but I am looking at a comfortable 2-0 victory. I cannot see Ipswich scoring and but for DJ Campbell I would have said they have no chance of scoring. He is a quality addition at this level but he has very little creativity around him.
