IPSWICH - MIDDLESBROUGH PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Ipswich were given a big boost when Mick McCarthy joined and they started to clamber up the table. However recent results have been poor with some old inadequacies returning.  A run of five games without a win is worrying at this stage of the season. McCarthy has plumped for experience with a rack of players brought in with bags of know how.  He has just brought in Anthony Wordsworth and addresses the keeper problems with the signing of Stephen Henderson. Richard Stearman reunites with McCarthy and fellow new boy Patrick Kisnourbo. The backline looks solid now and Ipswich know if they can keep a few clean sheets they are in with a chance. Ipswich are fourth bottom and only four points off the drop zone.

Middlesbrough are up and down at the moment and cannot seem to get their heads together. Winning and losing in equal measure they are an infuriating side to try and catch. Two wins in the FA Cup sandwich three defeats in the league. A run that has saw them drop to 6th on 47 points. With 15 wins, 2 draws and 11 defeats they are still in a great position. Deadline day saw the arrival of Kieran Dyer, the once England international (when fit) is an exceptional signing. Wether he actually gets any game time is another thing, with 35 games played in 5 years. Also a worry for Boro are the injury worries for Boro in Scott McDonald and Ishmael Miller, both will not travel to East Anglia.

Boro are devastating on their day, they have an attack capable of carving the best defences open. Ipswich have worked hard to bring in new players and have been rewarded with some very experienced signings. However they will take time to bed in and I expect some holes in the new backline as players take time to adjust. Boro have real quality in their ranks and the poor recent form of Ipswich looks like continuing.
