Middlesbrough played a tight game away to league new boys Preston last week and took away a 0-0 draw. Not the most exciting of openers for the fans but a point there is a solid start. I believe Boro will be a real force at home this season and will be on their side as much as possible and when the value presents itself. Boro rotated heavily for the midweek 3-1 win over Oldham. They will still be without defenders Woodgate and Gibson. New striker David Nugent goes straight into the side and hes a real goal machine at this level. Bolton mirrored the home side on gameday 1 as they also drew 0-0. A home tie with Derby is again a fair result. Last year they were pretty solid at home but tended to be abysmal on the road. They will travel to the North East and lose, I am pretty sure of this. They are without skipper Darren Pratley and that’s a blow. Tim Ream has been sold to QPR but Jay Spearing and Prince-Desir Gouano are available after injury and suspension.
Was really looking at a way to improve the odds here as I simply cannot see Bolton avoiding defeat. I was torn between the “win to nil” market or the high margin win for Asians. I believe the best bet here is Middlesbrough -1 asian handicap. We need a 2 goal win for payout while the 1 goal victory gets our stake back.
