Middlesbrough are on a superlative run with 8 games unbeaten including a tasty 6 straight victories. Boro were always going to be a force to be reckoned with but they had a terrible time with injuries. Slowly but surely as the players came back results picked up and with a almost full squad they look a formidable unit. Boro are likely to be without Marvin Emnes, Jonathan Woodgate and Rhys Williams. Last match they face a difficult task with a trip to Nottingham Forest. After a run of 5 games within 2 weeks Boro did look jaded and were not on their game. They have Forest a match though and looked rock solid at the back. Indeed this latest shutout was Boro's fourth in eight games. A sign of a good side is not to lose when not performing though.

Sheffield Wednesday had won two back to back games and showed some marked improvement, but against a strong and motivated Blackpool in midweek they were totally outclassed. There are signs that Wednesday are improving here in this match though as they did press during the second half. However the 2-0 loss was merely a case of a gulf in class. Blackpool looked back to their beat and Wednesday could not live with them. Dave Jones will have to get his men back on track but this will be a difficult task against one of the best sides in the league.
