The Championship is one of the toughest leagues on the planet. Reading v Brighton is a tough fixture, and in terms of footballing standards it would be a decent game in most top leagues across Europe. Here are my betting predictions for this Championship game:

Steve Clarke of Reading and Chris Hughton of Brighton are definitely two of the better guys in the game. Both sides are quite similar in that they undoubtedly have quality players, just the squad and 1st team is not firing. Reading are in 18th with 41 points from 35 games. Home form shows 7 wins, 3 draws and 7 losses. Recent league form sees 1 win, 1 draw and 4 defeats. With three losses in last three at home with no goals scored Madjeski Stadium is offering no home comforts. Brighton are 1 place and 1 point below the home side. However their recent form is much better – they go into this one with 3 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss.
With all the form I side with Brighton here. Reading are in slightly “worse” position as they are still in the FA Cup. A replay is due soon with lower league Bradford and a semi-final beckons. These situations can lead to players taking their eyes of the ball. I think Brighton with a small start is the bet.
