Reading knocked out 10 man strong Derby after a winner by new signing Yakubu in the FA cup in midweek. Now they're up against Wigan; a club they've struggled with both in the Championship and when the teams played in the Premier League. However, the Wigan they meet now is a club in a sad demise. Top earners are being kicked out to keep the wage bill under control, and three youth players are included in the squad.

Reading is 10-7-13 in the Championship, but looks a stronger side than what Wigan currently is with their 4-10-16. Wigan didn't even register a shot on goal against Nottingham til they were down 3-0.

No news to report from Reading. Yakubu could feature from the start here though after coming off the bench and looking sharp as ever after signing from Qatari club Al Rayaan. Wigan on the other hand will field a make shift central defense pairing as Barnett now is injured. Ramis is still not fit either. Huws, a regular DM is still not fit.

Reading v Wigan betting tip

Reading has a pretty decent offensive, and I am fairly sure they'll be able to capitalize on Wigan's defensive issues. If I had been more confident in the offensive threat of Wigan I could have gone for the overs here, but I can't recommend that pre game at least. The best bet here, now that the odds have drifted up is to take Reading for the win at 2.05. for me that is a massive price.
