NUNEATON – FOREST GREEN: PREDICTIONS

Conference National sees another decent match,  this time it’s the Triton Showers Arena and Nuneaton against Forest Green.

Nuneaton are another club to suffer financial ruin. Liquidated in 2008 and flung to the bottom of the non- league ladder.  After three successive promotions they sneaked into the playoffs in the last position, they went into the four team playoff as underdogs but won through and returned to Conference Premier last season, finishing in 15^th position. This season they opened up with an impressive 1-0 away win at last years League 2 side Macclesfield.

Forest Green are the longest serving member of the Conference National;  Over the last few years they are a usual pick for the top positions but never seem to fulfil the faith. This year could be the year they finally make the professional leagues. An opening day 8-0 mauling of Hyde coupled with Luton’s surprise loss sees Forest Green take the favourite mantle.  They have the best squad in the league and have some serious attacking talent. A look down the players sees a handful who would contest the top goalscorer market if they weren’t all playing for the same side. The likes of Magno Viera, Matty Taylor, Andy Mangan and Matthew Barnes-Homer are all quality at this level.
