MIDDLESBROUGH V CHELSEA PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

This FA Cup 5^th round tie is being played later than normal due to Chelsea’s previous round tie with Brentford going to a replay.  Now with both teams having a free weekend with no European football for Chelsea the game can eventually be played.

Middlesbrough are 7^th in the Championship and just 1 point off their main aim of reaching the promotion playoffs.  They have struggled for form lately with just 1 win in their last 5 to go along with 3 defeats but will feel they can still reach the holy grail of promotion this year.

Chelsea have a tough run of games, with the Premiership, Europa League and FA Cup all coming thick and fast.  Their main goal is a top 4 place in the EPL but they know that finishing the season without a trophy will be disappointing to their fans and owner after the amazing Champions League win last year.  Due to that I think they’ll be treating this game with plenty of respect and I think we’ll see a relatively strong side, including Terry, Torres and Oscar starting.

Chelsea are obviously strong favourites here and despite their weekend defeat at Manchester City I think they’ll bounce back quickly and be up for this match.  They will know a trophy may save their season from being a total disappointment and this is arguably their best chance at winning one.
