Big gap between these two sides at the moment and we take a large margin home win. Chesterfield are in 8th with 35 points from 25 games. After a few extra cup games they have league games in hand on teams around them. Home form sees 6 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats. (only 4 teams in league have won more) recent form for them sees 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats – however the quality of the opposition has been high with Derby, MK Dons, Swindon, Port Vale and Scunthorpe (twice) played. No injury problems at all for the home side. Crawley drop to bottom place in the league after a run that has seen a winless streak that goes all the way back to October! With 14 games gone they have had 7 draws and 7 losses. Away form is awful too with just 1 win in 13 games (4 draws and 8 losses) worst in division and just 10 goals scored. Injuries abound with keeper Brian Jensen out plus Dean Leacock, Conor Henderson with fellow midfielder Josh Simpson missing too.
Crawley cannot seem to get out of the poor run. Chesterfield should take the win and the odds reflect that as they are short. I have no hesitation in going for the -1 handicap here. We get paid on a 2 goal victory. A 1 goal win stake returned.
