Swindon go into this game in a bit of a slump. They are safe in 4th position and can neither catch 3rd or be caught by 5th. For me they knew this a few games back and have rotated and rested players accordingly. Colchester need any sort of result here to give them a sneak at grabbing safety. As it stands they are in 23rd with 48 points and are just 2 points from safety with 2 games left. Home form for them sees 6 wins, 3 draws and 12 losses. They have no new injuries either.
On the face of it this is a bottom v top clash and the common sense says Swindon. However the players have literally nothing to play for in this or the next game. For them simply avoiding injury is the key goal. I don’t see them killing themselves if they go behind and there is no reason for them to push on if they go ahead. They cannot change their finishing position in the next 2 games so Colchester is the bet for sure here.
