Gillingham have not had the greatest of starts to League 1. They have won 1, drew 1 and lost 2. They did beat Yoevil in the cup though, to go with a league win over the same side. Both losses were against decent sides though  with high flying Barnsley and MK Dons victorious. Worries over Josh Pritchard and Cody McDonald though, with the former a doubt but the latter likely to prove fit and start.  Crewe have lost all four league matches as they sit pointless at the bottom of the table. Losses to Barnsley, Fleetwood, Rochdale and Swindon. The manner of the defeats has been poor though with just 4 scored but 11 conceded. Missing players here too with Harry Davis, Ryan Colclough and Thierry Audel all out for sure with Jamie Ness already left to return to his parent club injured. Crewe have no option but to play George Ray who sustained a head injury in midweek. They will be feeling heavy legged too from a full 120 minutes against Bolton in midweek cup action.

Not as close as the odds suggest this one. To make Gillingham just 2.15 or 23/20 implies slight favouritism. Crewe have been awful so far this season and are nearly averaging 3 goals conceded a game. They are in poor form and confidence and Gillingham rate great value here.
