Chelsea would be one of the few sides looking forward to the international break after a poor run. They are down in 16th after 2 wins, 2 draws and 4 losses. Home form reads 1 win, 1 draws and 2 losses. Only Sunderland have conceded more which is remarkable. They have Diego Costa back and the Brazilian has been ordered on a diet due to poor condition. Chelsea are without Ivanovic but that may be a blessing as he has been terrible this season. Courtois is the only other absentee. Aston Villa are one of the few sides worse than Chelsea at the moment. In 18th they sit with 1 win, 1 draw and 6 losses. Sherwood is in danger and needs results fast. Away form for them sees 1 win and 3 defeats. They haven’t won since opening day of the season. Defenders Okore and Clarke miss out as does key attacker Agnonlahor. Adam Traore is fit though and that’s a boost.
Chelsea haven’t defended well this season but a huge chunk of that is Ivanovic down the right side. The Serbian has been pedestrian at best and has looked so poor. He is out for this one so they will go again here and I feel they have nothing to worry about in this limp Villa side. A win to nil is the best option for Chelsea who will look to get back to basics and three points with a clean sheet.
