NEWCASTLE - NORWICH PREDICTION STATS

Newcastle have won 1, drawn 2 and lost 1 game in slow start to their season.They have to be fair had a difficult start to the season with games against Everton, Spurs and Chelsea. Their games are averaging 2.75 goals a match. Winning margin for their 1 win (at home to Spurs) was by just the 1 goal. The loss to Chelsea was by two goals.
Norwich after starting off with a 5-0 crushing against Fulham have steadied the ship with 3 consecutive draws. This under stregnth team have found scoring difficult and are struggling somewhat. The team is showing a fighting spirit however and should be able to spring some surprises this season. The defence has been shored up to the extent that they are only averaging 2.25 goals per game, remarkable really after 5 in game 1.

TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

Newcastle's play stems from the middle where Cabaye and Ben Arfa try to create. Wide man Gutierrez tucks in to allow Ben Arfa the freedom to roam. Defence is solid enough but offers little assistance going forward. The striking positions is where Newcastle excel.With a pair of strikers who could walk into any other team in the top flight. Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse are both quality, they are capable of sublime skill and have serious goalscoing ability. Give them half a chance and it usually results in a goal, as Everton found out to their cost Monday night. Newcastle have a mounting injury list. Keeper Tim Krul is out, Defenders Danny Simpson, Fabio Coloccini and Ryan Taylor are missing. Midfielder Cheick Tiote is out and Gabriel Obertan may be dropped after he refused to come on in the final minutes of the draw with Everton. Newcastle do have a fairly strong squad but cannot be stretched anymore.
Norwich have looked comfortable in the last few games without appearing particularly threatening. They play a counter attacking game and tend to sit back to invite teams on to them. Their defence is stronger for the additions of Garrido and Bassong. The collective spirit is their and they are making a fight of it. They are let down by the lack of cutting edge in the side. Chris Hughton is doing his utmost and has got his team playing an organised, solid game.

Over goals is favourite in a game that looks tight for me. Norwich's opening 5-0 loss is in everyone's minds and should be ignored as they have fought hard to keep things tight since.
