Norwich take on West Ham in an entertaining clash at Carrow Road. Chris Hughton has steadied the ship after an opening day 5-0 destruction. West Ham looked very strong as the took apart Fulham 3-0 last time out but they do have a few problems to deal with.
League Form:
- Norwich P3 W0 D2 L1 PTS 2 GF2 GA7 GD-5.
- West Ham P3 W2 D0 L1 Pts 6 GF4 GA3 GD+1
Norwich performances have picked up since their opening day 5-0 loss at Fulham. They travelled to Tottenham last match and changed from a 4-2-3-1 to a more solid looking 4-4-1-1 with Simeon Jackson playing behind Grant Holt. While a 1-1 away draw looks respectable enough Spurs had to rely on a man of the match performance from keeper Brad Freidal to keep them in the game. Robert Snodgrass in the centre has been a inspired buy and has made the step up with ease. Norwich look stronger at the back as new signings Javier Garrido and Seb Bassong have slotted in seamlessly. Norwich are unbeated in 3 games in all competitions as Chris Hughton makes his mark on the team. West Ham had a barnstorming performance last time out with new loan signing Andy Carroll giving an immense performance as West Ham played to his strengths. He battered Fulham into submission but was forced off after an hour with an hamstring injury that will sideline him for some time. Playing a 4-3-3 with Ricardo Vaz Te and Matt Taylor flanking Carroll and Kevin Nolan supporting in behind West Ham looked like a different team altogether to the one that capitulated against Swansea. They totally dominated Fulham for the 1st half and scored three deserved goals. They took their foot off the gas 2nd half and let Fulham back into the game but at no time looked in trouble as defensively they were solid.
Betting prediction - Really tight game here as two teams are improving game by game and both seem settled. Norwich are showing some fight now and Chris Hughton showing his worth as a manager by getting this group of players to perform. West Ham would have been my strong selection if Carroll was fit but he is injured. Match odds show Norwich 2.37 (betvictor) at and West Ham at 3.50 (willhill)
