Thanks to a postponed match at Sunderland, Reading have only played two EPL games so far this season and are yet to register a win.  Their first match was a home tie against Stoke where they lost an early goal but fought back right at the end and an injury time penalty salvaged a 1-1 draw.  They then visited an impressive Chelsea team and played an excellent match where they deserved at least a draw from.  An offside goal and injury time break made the score 4-2 Chelsea but the game was much closer than the score line suggests.

Tottenham have had a difficult start under new manager Andre Villas-Boas.  Their first game away at Newcastle was a tight game where Spurs were arguably the better team but a late penalty saw them fall to a 2-1 defeat.  Since then they have had two poor home matches which have resulted in back to back 1-1 draws against WBA and Norwich.  Things will need to improve soon for Spurs or the fans will get restless and AVB’s job may come under threat.

Tottenham are favourites despite being the away team at 2.1 with Stan James, the draw is 3.66 and a reading win 3.85 with Betfair.

Tottenham will be hoping their new singings at the end of the transfer window, Dembele and Clint Dempsey can improve the poor performances we’ve seen from Spurs so far.

Reading haven’t played a premier league game for 3 and a half weeks so it isn’t clear how their form is coming into this game but they have looked strong in their first two games despite not winning.
