Sunderland has only played two games this season thanks to a waterlogged pitch postponing their tie against Reading. In their two league games they have managed two draws so far, first away to Arsenal where they defended heroically and then a 2-2 draw at Swansea after two goals from new striker Steven Fletcher. This will be their first home game of the season and they’ll aim to pick up their first win.
Liverpool has had a disastrous start to their EPL campaign under new manager Brendan Rodgers. They were thrashed 3-0 by West Brom on the first game of the season before looking better in a 2-2 home draw with Man City. Their most recent game was a home tie against Arsenal where they were favourites for the win but were soundly beaten 2-0. They must get a win this weekend to drag themselves out of the relegation zone and on track for the top half finish the fans will at minimum demand.
