TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

Everton started the season in excellent form but have struggled to put together wins recently, winning only once in their last 7 matches.  They have deserved far more points over this time but have struggled to get the second goal when ahead and have let teams back into games when they should have been killed off.  Their injury list is subsiding with Coleman, Gibson and Anichebe looking to be back to fitness in time for this match which will relieve some pressure on the squad.  Kevin Mirallas is still out for them however and is a big miss.

Arsenal laboured to a 0-0 draw with Villa at the weekend which is kept them behind Everton in the table.  They will want to keep pace with the top 4 who are already 5 points ahead and will be keen not to let them get any further away.  Arsenal are still without long term absentee’s Santos, Fabianski and Rosicky but expect Theo Walcott to be fit after a shoulder injury.

This is a big game for both sides, a win for either would keep them in the hunt for a top 4 spot while a defeat could put them 7 or 8 points out of the fight.  It’s not often we find such an important fixture at this stage of the season but it could be a huge turning point for either side.
