TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

This is a battle of two clubs who are performing extremely well this season so far and are exceeding most people’s expectations going into the season.

Everton are notoriously slow starters and usually struggle in the first half of the season but not this year.  They started well and have continued throughout the year and have a real chance of breaking into the top 4 this year and winning a Champions League spot.  Injury wise they are only missing 3 players but they are important players who would contribute to the first team in Mirallas, Hibbert and Gibson.  The Everton squad is not too deep but they have enough quality to replace these players, I would be more worried if they had a large 7-10 man injury list however like we see with some clubs.

Swansea have been in excellent form this season under manager Brian Laudrup.  They were expected to regress after an overachieving finish last year but it is looking likely that they’ll manage a top half finish this year which would be immense for a club of their size.  The big talking point for Swansea has been the capture of Michu who has been a revelation since his €2.6m move from Rayo Vallecano.  His 13 league goals in 20 matches has been a big part of Swansea’s excellent season.
