Manchester United is 4-1-1 in their last six Premiership games. At home Man U is 5-0-1 in their last six, with a goal average of 3.83. Five out of six went over 2.5. In that interval Manchester United managed just one clean sheet, but scored in every game. In fact Man U scored two plus in five out of six as well.

Newcastle is 2-0-4 in the Premier League in their last six. Away from home they’re 0-3-3 in their last six, with a goal average of 2.67. In this interval Newcastle got zero clean sheets. They did however score in five out of six.

 

Team News and Run of Play

Manchester United is still without Nani, Rafael, Kagawa and Anderson. Their squad depth should be able to cope with it. Valencia is injury free and would be a likely starter in front of Nani anyway. Ashley Young is also fit again. Vidic is back and that should improve this Man Utd side immensely at the back. Newcastle is still without several influential first team players. Ben Arfa, Steven Taylor and Yohan Cabaye are still missed due to injury. The strong midfielder Cheik Tiote is ruled out due to suspension. These sides have met at Old Trafford three times since 2010. United has won two, and one ended 1-1. Manchester United has been in the driving seat in these games. In October these sides met in Newcastle. Manchester United won deservedly 3-0. I can’t see this Newcastle team having enough to threaten Manchester United away at the minute.
