MANCHESTER UNITED V SOUTHAMPTON PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Manchester United are top of the Premier League with 56 points from 23 matches.  They have a 5 point lead over rivals Manchester City and are looking good to regain the title they lost so late last season.  Their recent form has been excellent with 4 wins and a draw in their last 5.

Southampton have a little breathing space over the relegation fight from 15^th place.  They are 4 points ahead of 18^th place Reading but have some tough games ahead over the next few weeks.  Their recent form has been excellent though with 4 draws and 1 win in their last 5 games.

Manchester United have made one of the bigger signings of the January window so far with the capture of Wilfred Zaha from Crystal Palace.  Despite his lofty price tag he will not be a first teamer this season and may indeed be loaned back to Palace for the remainder of the season.

Southampton’s main news was obviously their change in manager before the last game with most feeling Nigel Adkins was unfairly dismissed.  The new man Mauricio Pochettino may want to bring in his own players but he may have to wait until the summer for a total rebuild.
