NEWCASTLE V SUNDERLAND PREDICTIONS

This derby always has plenty at stake for the fans but with both clubs perilously close to the relegation zone this match has even more importance added to it.

Newcastle are 13^th in the Premiership with 36 points from 32 matches which leaves them 5 points ahead of the relegation zone.  They got a hugely important win last week with an injury time winner form Cisse giving them a 1-0 win over Fulham, with 2 straight defeats before that game anything but 3 points would have had them right in the relegation fight.  A win here would almost see them safe but local derbies always throw up surprises!

Sunderland are in even bigger trouble with just 31 points from 32 games which has them staying out of the relegation zone on goal difference.  They are in a terrible run of form and have not won for 9 matches.  A change in management from Martin O’Neill to Paulo di Canio is a last roll of the dice for Sunderland but with a difficult run in, is it too late?

Newcastle have had one of the biggest injury lists all season and they are still without Santon, Coloccini and Vuckic. They hope to have a number of players fit though including Ben Arfa, Taylor, Tiote and Debuchy.  Sunderland are missing Bramble, Fletcher, Catermole and Brown and have Gardner suspended.
