Norwich is 3-2-1 overall in their last six Premiership matches. At home Norwich is 5-0-1 (five on the trot), with a goal average of 2.67 goals per game. In the selected interval Norwich has managed three clean sheets and scored every time.

Chelsea is 2-2-2 in the Premiership in their last six, and 3-1-2 on the road. In this interval Chelsea’s goal average was 3.67. Five out of these six away games went over 2.5. In the selected interval Chelsea scored every time (more than once half the time), but they did not manage any clean sheets.

Team News and Run of Play

Mikel returns for Chelsea after being suspended for the 8-0 thrashing of Aston Villa. Terry and Romeu are still out. Ruddy and Surman are both still unavailable for Norwich.  

Last year this fixture ended 0-0 in a game Chelsea dominated. The reverse fixture this season ended with a deserved 4-1 Chelsea win. I do not see any reason this game should be any different. Chelsea is flying high at the moment. Rafael Benitez is a top coach in charge of a fantastic squad. He has gotten belief into the squad, and Torres is again firing on all cylinders and scoring for fun. Norwich has been solid as of late, but Chelsea in this form is a test for any team in Europe.

In their five in a row home winning streak Norwich has dealt with both Manchester United and Arsenal. I do however dare say they’ve been rather lucky. They met a much depleted United side, and Arsenal has been really up and down. Both United and Arsenal dominated their respective games. Chelsea at the minute seem very able to convert chances, and make no mistake about it: They will create a number of chances against the Canaries. I call this an away win.

I am not going to go for any wide handicap here. Norwich has been way to compact for that. Even if they got out of a ten games unbeaten streak on the 22nd away to WBA and might be both shaken and stirred by that they have plenty of defensive ability. Chris Hughton, the Norwich manager has built on the great work of Paul Lambert, and Norwich looks compact at the moment.
