Reading v Manchester City predictions

Reading is already relegated from the Premier League, but has had a slight upswing in form with 0-0 against QPR (also relegated) and a 4-2 away win against Fulham (in poor form). Manchester City has secured Champions League football next season, but I am not sure that's enough for the rich owners. To make matters worse Mancini's men lost 1-0 to Wigan at Wembley in the FA Cup final this weekend. Rumor has it Mancini is fired, and that Chilean Manuel Pellegrini is ready to jump ship in Malaga and go to Manchester.

When the two sides met in the reverse fixture City was totally dominant in all aspects of the game. In terms of team news there is nothing new to report really. Both sides should be able to select an eleven very close to their best.

 

Reading v Manchester City betting tips

Reading isn't the sort of team I normally see as a candidate for a betting tips. However, this is their last hurrah in the English Premier League this season, and I am quite sure they'd like to present their fans a show. Make no mistake about it; Man City can hurt Reading in their attempt, but with a setting like this the uncertainty must be unbearable. It can of course unite the squad for a last push for Mancini, but to be honest I can't see that happening. To me at least it is more likely the players are in vacation modus, and in a downward spiral after the FA cup loss.

Betting Manchester City at 1/2-8/15 (1.50-1.53) in this scenario doesn't strike me one bit interesting. I much rather go for the 1X, double chance option at Betsson priced at 2.50 (6/4). I prefer this over the outright Reading win as Man City has so much quality that even if their mind isn't sharp, they got plenty enough in the legs to get a goal or two.
