READING V SOUTHAMPTON PREDICTIONS

It looks too late for Reading to survive now but Southampton have powered up the league with some excellent recent results.

Reading are bottom of the Premiership with 23 points from 31 matches.  This leaves them 7 points off safety and with their recent form of 6 straight EPL losses you have to think they have no chance of pulling it back. 

Southampton are up to a lofty 12^th in the table with 34 points from 31 matches.  They are 4 points clear of the drop zone and are in good form with back to back home wins over Liverpool and Chelsea.  Just two more wins would be enough to see them safe and they have plenty of time to gain the points.

Injury wise Reading are looking good with just Jason Roberts missing and Federici and Kebe expected to be fit.  Southampton may be without Boruc who came off at half time in the last match.  Lallana and Fox are also injured.

Reading have made the change to Nigel Adkins as manager and many feel he was unfairly dismissed as Southampton manager earlier in the season.  But you can’t argue with the performances of the side since Mauricio Pochettino has taken over so the board look to have got that one right.  Adkins would love to get 3 points over his old side here though, even if it is too late for Reading to fight back to safety.
