SOUTHAMPTON V EVERTON PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Southampton are 15^th in the EPL with 22 points from 22 matches.  They are 3 points clear of relegation with a game in hand over their rivals at the bottom.  Their recent form has been strong with 1 win and 4 draws in their last 5 matches.

Everton are 5^th in the Premier League with 37 points from 22 matches.  They are just 3 points behind Tottenham in 4^th place and have a real chance of European football next season.  Their recent form has been good with 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat in their last 5 games.

SOUTHAMPTON V EVERTON PREDICTIONS: 1X2 BETTING PREVIEW

The big news for Southampton this week is the shock sacking of manager Nigel Adkins after an excellent run of just 2 defeats in 12 matches.  He will be replaced by Mauricio Pochettino who will have to do a lot to win over the fans and players.   The only reasoning I can see for this move is that the Southampton board decided to replace Adkins 2 months ago before their strong run but the recruitment process took longer than they wanted and they could only get Pochettino signed up after a long delay.  I very much doubt the board would have decided to make the change within the last few weeks with the strong run the Saints have been on and it could turn out to be a big mistake.

Everton will be aiming to win here to keep pressure on the teams around them fighting for 4^th spot.  They are missing a few first team players in Miralles, Heitinga, Hibbert and Gibson but their squad should be strong enough to cover this without a problem.

The market has Everton as favourites here as you would expect.  They have been excellent this season and have won back to back away games while Southampton have lost and drawn their last two home matches.
