SOUTHAMPTON V MANCHESTER CITY PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Southampton are 16^th in the Premier League with 24 points from 25 games, which leaves them 3 points ahead of the relegation zone.  They have looked impressive recently and are unlucky to only have 1 win, 3 draws and a defeat from their last 5 matches.  Their play under new manager Mauricio Pochttino has been excellent and they should be confident of staying up.

Manchester City are 2^nd in the EPL but are now 9 points behind leaders Manchester United after drawing 2-2 with Liverpool last week.  This was their second straight draw and leaves the Championship almost out of reach for this season.  With City already out of the Champions League this season is looking like a failure already and we need to question whether Roberto Mancini will still be manager next year.

Southampton are almost at full strength with just Jose Fonte missing through injury.  City meanwhile will be counting the days until Yaya Toure among others returns from the AFCON, they have seriously  missed his presence in midfield.  Injury wise City will also be missing Kompany and Richards leaving them lacking in defence.

SOUTHAMPTON V MANCHESTER CITY PREDICTIONS: 1X2 BETTING PREVIEW

City are strong favourites for this as expected from last season’s Champions against a team newly promoted.  I think City have lacked ideas in recent weeks however and have especially missed the players at the African Cup of Nations.  They should still have enough quality on the park to win this game but I could see it being a struggle.

I’m very tempted with the Draw at 4.00 on William Hill.
