Stoke v QPR predictions and preview: Betting stats
Stoke currently sit 15th in the Premier League with 9 points but only one win at a record of W1 D6 L3. Recent form has been poor at WDLDL but they remain unbeaten at home after draws with Arsenal, Man City and Sunderland and a win against Swansea. Their games have been low scoring at an average of 1.80 goals a game with just 2 seeing over 2.5 goals; 8 with fewer.
QPR are a dismal 19th in the table with just 4 points (W0 D4 L6) and their form is similar to their season as a whole at LLDLD. Away from home they drew their first away game but followed it up with 4 defeats to opposition near the top of the table. They have scored the same amount of goals at Stoke but conceded nearly double and their games have averaged 2.70 goals with half exceeding 2.5.
QPR won both ties between the sides last season including a 3-2 win at the Britannia but it must be said their side this season is very different.
Team News and Run of Play
Stoke will be missing Marc Wilson for the foreseeable future after he suffered a broken leg but aside from that they have a full squad. Fabio and Kieron Dyer remain out for QPR with Andy Johnson out for the season while Park has joined them on the injury list with a knee problem.
Stoke have secured some admirable draws this season against difficult opposition and have kept some of the top scoring teams at bay or at least kept them down to a solitary goal. Their lack of goals at home will probably be most worrying to Tony Pulis but I still maintain draws against top teams are good results for a team like Stoke and they should do OK this season.
QPR have really struggled this season. Away from home they have faced some top sides with defeats against the likes of Man City, Spurs, West Brom and Arsenal so far. I do think however that their inability to beat Reading last week and their fragility at the back doesn’t stand them in good stead going into this fixture.
Stoke v QPR predictions: 1X2 betting preview
For me Stoke should have enough to see off the threat of QPR in this game. I think that QPR may experience a different style of Stoke team at the Brittania as they may feel they can control the game instead of attempting a ‘smash and grab’ style win. For me the bet here is a Stoke win and at 1.909 with Coral it seems good value.
Stoke v QPR predictions: Asian Handicap preview
Since Stoke are around about the Even money mark in the match market the handicap here is 0.5. For me they should have the class to see off QPR but even if they lack the skill in the match itself I think their grit, determination and spirit; whilst being spurred on by the home support; will be enough. Slightly better value than the match market at 1.91 means Stoke -0.5 with BetVictor is the bet.
Fine margins but if you want better value, bet here.
Stoke v QPR predictions: Total Goals preview
I can’t look past the unders here. Stoke’s home games have seen just 4 goals at an average of 1 a game. QPR’s away games average 3 goals but still a small win for Stoke looks the most likely outcome so expect them to probably keep a clean sheet against a fairly muted QPR attacking force and keep the game to under 2.5 goals; available at 1.80 with Skybet.
