TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

Sunderland have turned the corner in recent weeks and have pulled themselves 7 points clear of the relegation zone.  There was talk of manager Martin O’Neill’s job being under threat but the team has pulled together and they are now getting the results they need to move up the table.  The fans will be pleased that they are ahead of rivals Newcastle in the table and they’ll have their eyes on a top half finish.

Spurs are again on a fine run of form which has seen them take back the last Champions League spot.  They are in a very tight race however and will have to continue winning if they want to hold off Everton, WBA and Arsenal who are not far behind.  The return of Gareth Bale has been a real turning point in the past few games and he showed he is one of the World’s top players with a stunning hattrick against Aston Villa on Boxing Day.

Tottenham are favourites here despite being the away side, and they have shown at times this year that they can be very strong away from home.  They have won 2 of their last 3 away matches, 3-0 at Fulham and 4-0 at Villa.

I like another Tottenham win in this one and will be backing them at 2.15 with William Hill.
