TOTTENHAM - SUNDERLAND PREDICTIONS

Tottenham host Sunderland with a Champions League place on the line for the home side. Sunderland can finish as high as 10^th so new coach Paulo Di Canio will have his charges ready for this England Premiership match.

Tottenham can finish 3rd with a win here and an Arsenal slip up, The Gunners are away to Newcastle so it is a possibility. Tottenham simply have to concentrate on their own job and put Sunderland away. Tottenham have been strong for most of the season but I believe their Europa League exploits stretched them somewhat. The loss of Gareth Bale for a few weeks hindered them and although they rushed him back he looks to be playing within himself. Tottenham’s form at this stage of the season is not good enough with 4 wins, 4 draws and 1 defeat. Defensively they have been in poor shape too with 13 goals conceded in those 9 games (18 goals scored however so still functioning up top) No new injury worries for Spurs with just Gallas and Sandro still sidelined.

Sunderland have been in terrible shape over the past few months with just 2 wins from 9 games (3 draws and 4 losses) Paulo Di Canio has assessed his squad and is seeking some serious changes. His squad is one of the worst in the division and Sunderland could really do with a win here to climb a few places for the extra prize money.  The current side is full of graft and industry but has very little flair or creation. Di Canio could do with a younger version of himself. Sunderland have problems with key men missing, Their best player of 2013 Danny Rose has left to return to todays opponents Spurs. Craig Gardner and Stephane Sessegnon are suspended, with Lee Cattermole and Steven Fletcher still on the long term injury list.

TOTTENHAM - SUNDERLAND: BETTING TIPS

Sunderland are in a terrible run at the moment and cannot be trusted with anyones money. Spurs will seek to grab the win that could give them fourth. This is a banker home win and the odds are as expected crashing down as everyone tries to back the home side. We have to look at Tottenham -1.5 (1.85 pinnacle) such is the low price on the home side. Spurs should be well capable of rattling Sunderland here and the visitors do not offer much outside of dangers from dead balls at the moment. With key men out for Sunderland too the asian handicap does look the best bet.
