West Brom are 4^th in the EPL with 26 points from 14 games, winning 8, drawing 2 and losing 4.  They have averaged 1.71 goals per game while conceding 1.29 for a total goal difference of +6.  Their recent form has seen 4 wins and a loss with an aggregate score of 11-7.  4 of the 5 matches ended with over 2.5 goals

Stoke are 9^th in the table with 19 points from 14 matches, winning 4, drawing 7 and losing 3.  They have averaged just 0.93 goals per game but have a great defensive record with just 0.86 conceded for a total goal difference of +1.  Their recent form has seen 3 wins, a draw and 1 defeat with an aggregate score of 5-3, only one of the games ended with over 2.5 goals.

TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

West Brom has been in fantastic form this season and deserves their current league place.  They suffered their first defeat in 5 matches midweek when they were dominated by Swansea, but they will be keen to get back to winning ways especially at home where they have won 6 of 7 games this year.

They have a full squad to choose from and rested striker Shane Long midweek so he will be likely to lead the line in this game.  Long has 5 goals in 11 starts this season and have been a real handful for defences with his physical style and his constant chasing and harassing of defenders when they have the ball.

Stoke struggled to score goals early in the year but have scored in their last 4 matches, winning 3 of them.  They have the second best defensive record in the league behind only Man City so usually 1 goal is enough to get a result.

They will be happy to match up against the physical nature of West Brom’s attack as they will feel their central defensive partnership of Shawcross and Huth can outmuscle any striker in the league.  Going forward they are relying on the creativity of Charlie Adam from midfield who will be looking to feed Crouch up front.
