TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

Wigan are just hanging on above the relegation zone but if they continue with their current form it won’t be long until they are in it.  They are missing 3 of their first choice defenders with Ramis injured and Caldwell and Figueroa suspended.  They really need to win this one to keep ahead of the relegation zone and with 3 away games out of 4 before new year, they will struggle to pick up points elsewhere.

QPR have drawn their two games since Harry Redknapp became their manager and are in desperate need of their first win.  They’ll be missing Diakite, Mbia, Cesar, Zamora and Johnson for this one and that leaves them very short, especially up front.  In their last game they started Jamie Mackie as their lone striker, but I think Cisse could start this match.

This is a proper relegation 6 pointer and both teams will be desperate to win it, things will not be looking bright for either team should they lose.

Wigan are favourites as the home team but they will be struggling with basically all of their first choice back 3 missing for this one.  They’ll likely play Boyce, Piscu and Stam as a makeshift backline or they could revert to a back 4.

Either way, I think both sides will struggle and I think the draw is the best option here.

If I had to lean one way then I think the likely winner is Wigan, despite their selection troubles.  QPR are lacking quality forward players who can score goals and I don’t think Cisse is the man to lead the line in the EPL.
