WIGAN V SOUTHAMPTON PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

This is a real bottom of the table 6 pointer which could have a real bearing on Premiership survival for both clubs.

Wigan are 18th and in the final relegation spot.  They are even on points with 17^th placed Reading and just 3 points behind their opponents in this match.  They have drawn 2 and lost 2 of their last 4 games, with both losses coming at home.  If they continue to lose at the DW Stadium then relegation is inevitable so they need to start getting points at home.

Southampton are in 16^th place just 3 points off the relegation spots.   They have performed well in their last few matches but have struggled to pick up points with just 1 win in 5 against tough opponents.  Southampton will be missing Guly and Jose Fonte for this one but will otherwise be at full strength.

Wigan meanwhile have been unlucky with injuries and have a number of players out including Ramis, Piscu, Watson, Miyaichi, Pollitt and Crusat.  They have brought in a number of loans for cover including Paul Scharner from Hamburg.

Wigan really need a win here and showed big heart in a fightback from 2-0 down away to Stoke where they managed to snatch a draw.  I think they have a good chance of getting the win they need here.
