MARSEILLE V LORIENT PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS

Marseille is 2^nd of this Ligue 1, 2 points behind Lyon who took the lead last weekend. Marseille won 9 games, drew twice and lost in 4 matches. They scored a total of 20 goals and conceded 16, which are not awesome stats for a second. On their pitch, they have a 4-2-1 record.

After a quite long bad run, Lorient is back in the mid table. They are sitting in 11^th spot after having won 5 games, drawn in 6 and lost 4 times. Away, they are struggling as they are only 1-3-3, the 3 losses being in the last 3 away games. Traditionally, Lorient is a team who plays a lot and doesn’t really know how to defend in away games. That’s why they conceded 16 goals in their 7 trips, making them one of the worst away defense of the league.

TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

After a football lesson received on their own pitch by Lyon (1-4) ten days ago, Marseille came back on track straight with an important winning on Brest’s pitch (1-2). They are now out of Europa League which is a good thing for a team such a limited bench. Moreover, Souleymane Diawara is back from his long injury, and Gignac is expected to be back soon (too short for that game though).

Lorient just won two nice home games, over Lille (2-0) and Toulouse (1-0). In between, they lost their game in Bastia though.

After a very late signing from Dijon, the midfield Benjamin Corgnet starts feeling better and better in this team, and he should soon come back to his last season’s level, which brought attention of some major EPL teams.
