MARSEILLE V VALENCIENNES PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

The home side is holding to its 3^rd position, although the following teams are coming back strong. Marseille has a 13-4-7 overall record. When playing in the Velodrome, they won 6 games, drew twice and lost 3 matches. The worrying point for them is that they remain on two very poor performances against two much weaker squads: a 0-1 home loss to Nancy, followed by a 1-1 draw in Evian. A couple weeks ago they were fighting for the title, now they will focus on keeping this position.

Valenciennes is in 11^th position with 33 points collected in 24 games. Their away record is poor as they won only twice, drawing 3 and losing in 7 games. They are on a run of 6 away games without a win (12 goals conceded and only 2 scored in those 6 last games).

One of Valenciennes’ best players in the first half of season, Foued Kadir, actually signed for Marseille in the transfer window. Elie Baup should use him against his former teammates.

The home side will be missing Benoit Cheyrou, one of the most consistent player in the midfield. On top of that, Andre Ayew and Nkoulou are questionable. As I mentioned earlier, Marseille doesn’t have the best squad in France, and has a limited bench. They had very good performances thanks to their solidarity and team spirit, but it seems like they are losing this state of mind.

I don’t see much value on Marseille (at around 1.6), so I’d rather try a draw here. Go for a draw at 4 with William Hill.
