Sochaux has lost the very good CB Carlao as well as Jordan Ayew (AM), Sanjin Prcic and Emmanuel Mayuka (AM/FW) in the transfer window after being relegated from Ligue 1. Here they also will miss two decent attackers in Contout and Bakambu.
Orleans were promotoed to Ligue 2, but haven't made much of a splash in the transfer window so far. They look robust at the back, but they do not score a lot of goals. They'll miss Maah who arrived from Cluj (Forward) and Mendy (AM).
Both sides have been acceptable in pre-season, but for me there is a lot of quality difference at the core of these two sides. Sochaux started low in the market, but team news have driven the price up. Now to the point I see clear value in the home win. After all, Sochaux have more players who can score goals. Pre season has shown that. Furthermore they are a better side, plain and simple.
