In the first Bundesliga match of the season we will see last year’s champions Borussia Dortmund take on Werder Bremen, we will preview the action and give predictions on the betting market.

Dortmund captured their second straight Bundesliga title with an excellent campaign last season which ended with them 8 points ahead of rivals Bayern Munich in second place.  They have revamped their squad somewhat for this coming season with the sale of Kagawa to Manchester United.  They have brought in Marco Reus from M’gladbach as a replacement, the 23 year old having played a huge part in his team’s impressive 4^th place finish last year.

Bremen had a terrible end to their league campaign last season, losing their last 4 games.  This left them in 9^th place when a fight for European places looked on the cards with 5 games to go.  They have also made some big changes to their squad including selling Marin to Chelsea and Naldo to Wolfsburg.  They have spent big money on Greek defender Papastathopouslos and Elia Eljero from Juventus.

Total Goals

A lot of goals are expected from this match with Dortmund’s attacking talents.  Over 2.5 Goals is set at 1.54 with the Under at 2.65.  If Dortmund continue with the type of form they showed last season then the goals should flow.

Asian Handicap

Dortmund are expected to win this easily with the Asian Handicap set at Dortmund -1.75 @ 2 and Bremen +1.75 @ 1.96.  We will need to see how their new players integrate into the squad and if they can continue with the level of performances we have seen last year but with the majority of the players still together I expect they’ll be up to par.
