FORTUNA DUSSELDORF V HOFFENHEIM PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Dusseldorf had a good start to the season but has fallen into crisis recently.  They are currently in 15^th position in the Bundesliga with 10 points from 10 matches but are falling down the table rapidly.  They have lost their last 4 matches in the league, conceding 13 gaols and scoring 3. 

Hoffenheim are also having troubles this year and are just ahead of their opponents in 13^th place in the league with 11 points from their 10 matches.  They have won just once in their last 5 matches, drawing twice and losing twice also.  They have seen an average of 3.2 goals per game over their last 5 with 3 of them ending with over 2.5 goals.

TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

Dusseldorf gained promotion to the bundesliga after a 3^rd place finish in 2.Bundesliga last season, narrowly edging St Pauli on goal difference.  They goal is to avoid relegation at the first attempt but they are struggling to stay out of the relegation zone.  They started the season promisingly with a win and were unbeaten in their first 6 games with 2 wins and 6 draws.  Since then however they seem to have fallen apart and have lost 4 games in a row, throwing them down the table towards the relegation zone.  They’ll need to find their early season form again if they want to stay out of the bottom three.

Hoffenheim finished 11^th last season and their aim for this year was a top half finish.  They had money to spend after the €10m sale of Sigurdsson to Tottenham among others and invested over €10m into the squad.  It doesn’t seem to have worked, at least initially, as the side are down in 13^th place and just 3 points off the relegation zone.  Last week’s excellent win against Schalke should give them confidence they can start gaining points and move up the table.

Despite both teams having similar records and Hoffenheim being the away side they are small favourites for the match.  This is fair when you look at the quality of each squad and Dusseldorf’s terrible run of form.
