Hannover opened up with a decent result drawing 2-2 at home to Champions League chasing Schalke, that gave us an idea of their intent but nobody could have predicted the result to follow away to local rivals Wolfsburg. A 4-0 victory in the Volkswagen Arena was all the more amazing given the performance. Hannover destroyed Wolfsburg and outplayed them in all areas for the full 90 minutes. The architect of the victory was the Hungarian Szabolcs Huszti, he gave a masterful performance from the left side of midfield and was involved in all four goals. Playing a 4-4-2 formation with the Hungarian stationed out wide Hannover had all the answers. This is a team on the up for sure. Werder Bremen started Bundesliga duty with the impossible task of an away tie with Borussia Dortmund. They gave a good account of themselves but were ultimately a class below their illustrious rivals. Last match saw them face off against a Hamburg side in dissarray. Bremen dominated their local rivals and eased to a 2-0 victory in a game they could afford to miss a penalty in. Bremen lined up again in the 4-1-4-1 formation and in Aaron Hunt they had the best player on the pitch by a mile. The central midfielder capped a fine display with a goal and an assist to ease the pain of the missed penalty.
