HOFFENHEIM V MAINZ 05 PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS
Hoffenheim are 17th in the table with 19 points from 25 matches and are major threats for relegation this year. The only way they’ll be saved is catching 16th placed Augsburg who are 2 points ahead and making it into the relegation playoff where they’ll have a chance of survival. Full survival is 9 points away and looks out of the question. They got their first league win in 5 matches last week as they beat bottom of the table Greuther Furth comfortably 3-0. This should give them some confidence but Mainz are a much more difficult prospect.
Mainz are in 7th position but have struggled recently, dropping from 4th position a few weeks ago. They had drawn 4 straight matches before winning at home to Bayer Leverkusen at the weekend so they’ll be confident of keeping up the winning run here.

This is a very tough match to handicap. Mainz have been the better side this season but have had struggles away from home while Hoffenheim have been much better at home than away.
I still think the books are overestimating Hoffenheim at home and they shouldn’t be favourites.
