Ingolstadt is roughly in the middle of the table, with decent 11 points in seven matches. As a newly promoted team they should be happy with the start to the season. They have won three matches, tied two matches, and lost two. The goal difference is only 4-6, and this is quite telling of Ingolstadt and their chosen match strategy, which is tight in defence and attempts on counter-attack. And it is probably the best strategy to survive for a newly promoted team, just look at Cologne last season. At home this season, Ingolstadt has one draw 0-0 against Wolfsburg, and two losses of 0-4 and 0-1 against Dortmund and HSV. Their previous match ended 1-1 away to Cologne, a match where I (unusually for Bundesliga) bet on the under 2.5 goals. The two goals came quite early though, so I was not very confident as usually more goals are scored once the scoring starts, but the match settled down after halftime.
Danilo Teodoro Soares (defender, 0 matches so far) and Almog Cohen (midfield, with one match as substitute) are still both injured. The same applies for Maurice Multhaup (midfield), even though he would probably not have started if he was match fit. The regular midfielder Alfredo Morales is doubtful.
Frankfurt is two points behind Ingolstadt on the table, with 2-3-2 and a goal difference of 13-9. They have beaten Stuttgart 4-1 away and Cologne 6-2 at home. But in the last three matches they have only managed two draw and one loss (0-0 away to HSV, 2-0 loss away to Schalke, and 1-1 at home to Hertha last weekend).
Two players have recently become unavailable: Emil Nazim Balayev (reserve goalie) and Yannick Zummack (young goalie), but the club still has Hradecky and Lindner available to there is no shortage of goalkeepers. Some other players are still out with injuries: Bamba Anderson (central defender), Timothy Chandler (defender), Sonny Kittel (midfield) and the skilled attacker Haris Seferovic (two goals and three assists in six matches this season). Stefan Aigner in attack is doubtful.
Since Alexander Meier returned he has scored four goals, and even though this striker is getting older, the goals keep coming! For today’s match he will probably start on top together with the new signing Luc Castaignos (who started on the bench in the previous match), and also Castaignos is showing promise in the Bundesliga.
This is a match where Frankfurt will have to take charge, while Ingolstadt will make themselves hard to beat. Frankfurt is not that impressive in defence, even though they do look more balanced as a team than in a long time. So Ingolstadt will get their chances on counter-attacks, but they have only scored one goal in three home matches. Meier and Castaignos will probably not need that many chances before scoring, they are skilled within the box and have good aerial skills as well. Frankfurt should therefore have more opportunities to get the one goal needed to press Ingolstadt forward, which again will give Frankfurt more opportunities in counter-attack as well. This looks like an away win, or perhaps 0-0 or 1-1, so Eintracht Frankfurt Draw no bet at odds 1/1 (2.0) with BetVictor looks good.
