SCHALKE 04 V HOFFENHEIM PREDICTIONS

Schalke are looking to curb a losing run as they take on relegation candidates Hoffenheim at home.

Schalke are 5^th in the Bundesliga with 39 points from 26 matches which leaves them even on point with 4^th place Eintracht Frankfurt in the final Champions League spot.  They also have 3 teams just 1 point behind them in what is a very close fight.  Schalke were knocked out of the Champions League with a 3-2 home defeat to Galatasaray which was then followed up by a disappointing 3-0 defeat away at Nurnberg.  They must get back to winning ways or the Champions League spot could end up out of reach.

Hoffenheim are 17^th in the Bundesliga and in one of the two automatic relegation spots.  They are 4 points behind Augsburg in the playoff spot and 9 points behind Dusseldorf and safety.  They have picked up 4 points from their last 2 matches with a win over Greuther Furth followed up by a draw at home to Mainz.  If they can continue this run then they have a chance of safety but it’ll be a big ask.
