Wolfsburg has started the season with three wins, two draws, and one loss. Overall they have not been quite at the same high level as last season, and they have lost two great players in Perisic and De Bruyne. But still they are a top team, and the first and only loss so far this season came last week, when they lost a whopping 5-1 away to Bayern Munich. Wolfsburg started the match well, but when Lewandowski entered the field as a substitute, he scored five goals and singlehandedly decided the match. They have lost points to Cologne and Ingolstadt, both times on away field. There is nothing to complain about when it comes to their form on the home field, they have three wins against Eintracht Frankfurt, Schalke and Hertha Berlin. Last week the Champions League group stage started, and they beat CSKA Moscow at home, and next week they are travelling to Manchester for a tough match against Manchester United. For today’s match their important defensive midfielder Luiz Gustavo is unavailable.

Hannover is at the bottom of the league table, with only one point after one draw and five losses. The point was earned in the first match of the season, away to Darmstadt, and since then they have lost five consecutive matches with a goal difference of 3-13. Their match the previous weekend was at home to Stuttgart, and even though Stuttgart has improved a bit it is still a team that had lost all five matches, Hannover was not able to take advantage of this and lost the match 1-3 (Hannover scored first, but then conceded twice within next five minutes). Sakai is injured and unavailable today for Hannover, while the offensive player Prib and Benschop are still out.

This is a match where Hannover will have to defend most of the time. It is a minus that Wolfsburg is missing Gustavo and has a midweek Champions League match to consider, but I am still betting Wolfsburg -1.25. Both Augsburg and Mainz has beaten Hannover with at least two goals, and even though Hannover might play more defensively today, those results are a good indication of strength. The odds are decent, so my bet is Wolfsburg -1.25 at odds 66/67 (1.99) with BetVictor.
