ALGERIVA V TOGO PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Round two in group “D” of the African Cup of Nations between Algeria and Togo. Both teams lost their first game in the last minutes.  Morale broken or not, this match will be a war. They both really need the three vital points to qualify further in to the quarter-finals. If Ivory Coast and Tunisia draws it opens up the group a lot.

Algeria lost very late in their opening match versus Tunisia. Algeria head coach Vahid Halilhodzic is optimistic that they will prevail over Togo. Valencia midfielder Sofiane Feghoul and Medhi Lacem of Getafe are their key players. They caused a lot of trouble and owned the midfield in their first game against Tunisia. Algeria has two wins, one draw and two losses in their last five games. Last time Algeria won the African Cup of Nations was 1990.

Togo also fell in the last minutes, Arsenal’s Gervinho settled the score 2-1 in favour of Ivory Coast. It has been a lot of talking about that game, even Algeria head coach Halilhodzi said “they made a super match against Ivory Coast and perhaps they didn't deserve to lose,". There were too many mistakes from the referees in my opinion. Togo once again put their trust in the arms of Emmanuel Adebayor, who had a pretty mediocre game in their opener. Togo is the underdogs in this match-up.

Algeria will probably dominate the midfield and that will win them the game since both teams really needs to go forward.  Togo’s status and moral is unstable and maybe questionable after the loss against Ivory Coast.
