BURKINA FASO V TOGO PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Fourth quarter-finals of the African Cup of Nations between Burkina Faso and Togo. These teams have met 19 times and Togo has the best record with nine wins, six draws and four losses. Togo have not lost to Burkina Faso in their last four games dating back to 1999 and their last match-up was in 2012 in a friendly where Togo won 3-0               

Burkina Faso won group “C”, one win and two draws. They had a really tough group with last year’s winners Zambia and Nigeria who also qualified in to the quarter-finals. Jonathan Pitroipa and Alain Traore have just been terrific, in my opinion the second best combo in this AFCON after Yaya Toure and Gervinho. They just been dominating the field where ever  they been. Burkina Faso with only one goal against so far has such a solid defence with Bakary Kone, Saidou Panatedeguri, Paul  Koulibally and Mohammed Koffi. They don’t have any injuries to report and are ready for Togo.

Togo are in the quarter-finals for the first time and this promise fireworks for sure.  Their superstar E.Adebayor once again has to pull off some magic against a better Burkina Faso. The striker been great so far with one goal and two assists even though he is constantly supervised by one-two players. Togo keeper Kossi Agassa who is arguably the best shot-stopper in the tournament so far will also play a huge role in this battle. Togo are a small underdog to make it in to the semi-finals.

I’m going with the small favourite here, I’m just so amazed by Jonathan Pitroipa and Alain Traore and overall defence in Burkina Faso. If they managed to lock down Adebayor they will win for sure and this might be the most solid defence so far  this year’s AFCON for Adebayor and Togo. Burkina Faso running so hot and I don’t think they are just done yet.
