IVORY COAST V NIGERIA PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Third quarter-final of African Cup of Nations between Ivory Coast and Nigeria. Ivory Coast won the last two meetings in 2006 and 2008 with 1-0 both times. Ivory Coast ranked 14^th and Nigeria 52^nd in the FIFA rankings.               

Ivory Coast a big favourite as always. They are such a star-studded team with all their European stars. They have played great so far although it looked really bad for a while against Algeria in their last game when they were behind 2-0 but came back and managed to draw. Drogba scored his first goal of this year’s AFCON. Ivory Coast hasn’t lost a game since the final last year where they fell on penalties against Zambia. They looks like a rock solid team this year as well and they are out for revenge since this might be Drogba’s last tournament with the elephants. Gervinho, Yaya Toure alongside Drogba is a lethal combo. Ivory Coast coach Sabri Lamouchi said he is shocked at how easily his side have reached the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Nigeria has actually been playing really good in this tournament so far in my opinion. The best team in their group although they got really unlucky in the first two games with two really late goals. Their go to guy is definitely Emmanuel Emenike who has been amazing all games. Two goals and more to come, I promise you. Victor Moses scored two goals from the eleven meter mark in their last clash against Ethiopia, he will be a handful as well on the wing to support Emmanuel Emenike.

I love how Nigeria plays and they are my favourite team in this AFCON but I’m afraid that Ivory Coast is just too strong. Their star-studded team just seems to be unbeatable and they showed how strong they are by making nine changes in their last group match against Algeria and stilled performed.

I’m going with the favourites Ivory Coast, their experience on the field is just superior and to be honest they are superior in every aspect on the field.
