MALI V GHANA PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

African Cup of Nations has almost come to an end but first the battles of the medals. This epic clash decides who goes home with the bronze-medal. It’s a rematch of last year’s bronze battle when they played each other as well. These two teams have met each other five times and Ghana has the best record with three wins, one draw and one loss. Like I said, they met each other last year; they were in the same group both in 2012 and now in 2013. Ghana won the group match but lost the 3rd place to Mali and this year could be the same, they won the group match after a goal from W.Mubarak in the 38th minute. Ghana is a small favourite in this match-up.

Mali lost the semi-finals against a very strong Nigeria. Diarra scored in the 75th minute to set the final score 1-4. All the stats from the match was pretty even, shots taken, ball possession and they actually had double the amount of corners but, Nigeria managed to score on their chances. The former FC Barcelona Seydou Keita was once again one of their best and most important players. He will be their key player once again if they want to take on a revengeful Ghana. Average age in the squad is 25. Mali scores 50% of their goals in the 75th-90th minute mark. They have never won the African Cup of Nations.

Probable line-up:

Samassa
Diawara, Tamboura, Wague, N’Diaye
C. Diarra, Keita, K. Traore
M. Traore, S. Diarra, Diabate

Ghana lost a really tight semi-final against Burkina Faso. Once again W.Mubarak scored an early goal from the spot in the 13th minute, Burkina Faso scored the equalizer in the 60th minute and the game went on to penalties where they lost. Their go to guy has definitely been the young debutant Wakaso Mubarak. He is their best striker so far, the 22 years old midfielder plays for Espanyol in Spain. Ghana has an average age of 24. They score 55% of their goals in the first half of the game. Ghana is four times champions of the African Cup of Nations.

Probable line-up:

Dauda
Afful, Vorsah, Boye, Asamoah
Boateng, Asante
Badu, Atsu, Wakaso
Gyan

MALI V GHANA PREDICTIONS: 1X2 BETTING PREVIEW

I’m going with the underdogs Mali here. I think they are more motivated and less broken from the loss in the semi-finals. They got outplayed by Nigeria and they realized that they didn’t belong in the finals; on the other hand Ghana had a much tighter game and is four time champs so I’m guesses their morale is more broken. Seydou Keita said that a bronze-medal would bring some joy to the nation since they are in crises.
