An interesting UCL tie in Belarus sees BATE take on Partizan Belgrade. BATE have played 4 ties in the competition so far with 2 wins and 2 draws but they have yet to face anyone of note. Dundalk of Ireland were beaten 2-1 on aggregate with a home win and a 0-0 in Ireland. While Debrecen of Hungary were beaten with the same margin. A 1-1 in Hungary and a 1-0 win at home. Just 4 goals scored against such low ranking opposition is a worry to me and neither Debrecen or Dundalk have the firepower of the Serbians. BATE are top of the Belarus league after  16 games with 12 wins, 3 draws and 1 loss. Partizan come into this game after just 5 games of the Serbian league. They have played shadow sides before this game and the Steaua decider so the league position is false.  Partizan have also played 4 games in UCL so far but have fared better with 3 wins and 1 draw. They have beaten Gila of Georgia twice while drawing with Steaua in Bucherest before smashing them 4-2 in Belgrade to surge through.

 

These sides are a lot closer than it looks on paper. I think BATE will not over commit here and they will look for a narrow win with a clean sheet. 1^st legs are generally tight and Partizan will feel if they can get BATE back to Belgrade with a draw and even better a score draw they will be favourites infront of their lunatic fans. I take the +0.25 which gets us paid on the Partizan win, a draw sees half win and half stake refund.
