Switzerland host France in a Champions League action. Grasshopper finished in 2^nd position in Swiss Super league last season. They have had a terrible start to this season with 2 losses from 2! Going down to Thun and Zurich. Grasshopper have won the league an amazing 27 times but none since 2003. In Champions League they have managed 52  games with 15  wins, 10 draws and 27 losses for a  28% win rate. They have only played four ties in recent years and have not performed at all. Losing 3 matches (against Lyon twice and AEK Athens) – Lille had tremendous season last year and were the best side outside moneybags PSG and Monaco. With a superb backline they had a huge run of clean sheets and  keeper Vincent Enyeama was pivotal for them. Lille have won the French league on three occasions (and as recently as 2011) – They have a quality squad for me and could do well here. In Champions League they have played 38 games with 10 wins, 12 draws and 16 losses. They have a 26% win rate of their games.  They group games in the last few seasons, without much success.

I take Lille to come out on top in this tie but think they may be cautious in this 1^st leg. Grasshopper have played two games already in Swiss league but have lost them both. Last season Lille were superb at keeping teams at bay. I suspect they will either sit on a 1-0 lead or even take a low scoring draw to see the tie out in 2^nd leg.
